Hail Hail The Gang's All Here

gang

They had come to town to lay low and rest awhile, thinking no one would ever suspect them there. At the time they were one of the most wanted gangs in America and John Dillinger was a name every American knew. Little did they know that the “hick town” police force would bring their realm of terror to an abrupt end. On January 25, 1934, all four gang members, Harry Pierpont, Russell Clark, Charles Makley and John Dillinger would all be arrested within hours of each other and without a single shot fired. Put on display at the local jail, the police posed with their weapons and bragged about the arrests they had made. The Dillinger Gang was a prize to capture. Indiana, Ohio and even the great city of Chicago had been unable to corner this bunch. But Tucson did it, with the exception of having to hit Russell Clark over the head; without fatal injuries to either good guys or bank robbers.
